What's Hot For Fall Fashion 2009?

Everyone likes being current and fashionable. This fall's looks are hot off the runway and ready to strut for you. The best part about these fashion trends is that you don't have to buy a whole new wardrobe to fit in fashion-wise. Just use what you already have and maybe accent with a few new accessories or shoes.

The first major trend of the season is leather. Leather coats, leather skirts, leather leggings, leather handbags, and even leather hats will all star in this season's fashionable wear. Do you have anything leather in your closet? Now is the time to pull it out in preparation for fall. You will look so current and chic. Plaid is another style that you probably have hiding in your closet. Lumberjack shirts, skirts, shoes, hats, and handbags will all be making an appearance this winter. Making me think of roaring fires and cups of hot cocoa, plaid is one of my favorite looks for the season. Generally too busy to wear with plaid, lace is in for the winter as well. Lace goes well with strong jewel tones such as cranberry, cobalt, purple, and hunter green. Vibrant colors such as these were showcased by every major designer this year and promise to lift spirits on dreary winter days. Gray is another vogue development, especially when paired with jewel tones or plaid.

Dramatic shoulders promise eye-catching results to those daring enough to try them. One shoulder dresses, padded shoulder coats, and accordion pleat blouses all accentuated the eroticism of shoulders and drew eyes up to the face. Ruffles abound on necklines, hemlines, shoes, and handbags. Animal prints are still huge, having lost none of their appeal since being showcased both in the spring and last winter. If wearing a full leopard print trench coat is too daring for your tastes, consider trying just shoes, headband, or clutch with an animal print. Even small touches like this will turn your outfit into a runway copycat.

If you thought the animal prints were edgy, you might want to stop reading here. Rocker-chic looks are in for fall. Studs, rivets, big bold buckles, and chains will all be dominating boots, shoes, jackets, handbags, and other accessories. Thigh high, skin tight boots are also the latest craze. Actually, pretty much any boot is in style in nude or neutral colors. Layers are a popular look, paired with skinny pants or leggings. To keep you from looking overwhelmed on top, many designers added cinched or belted waists.
